This Week: On Design, Fashion and Life

On the design front, packages of materials for my 2012 Junior League of Boston Show House project have been arriving at our doorstep.  The Farrow & Ball paint was actually delivered last week, but a huge box from Schumacher landed a couple of days ago, and the wallpaper I mentioned here, is from Graham & Brown.  I’ve been working on a write-up for the space and a hand-drawn rendering, leaving me bleary-eyed from the editing.  Plaster, prepping and painting (unintended 3 P’s) start next week, so I’ll try to document the progress with photos.

 Tie | Runway | Pants

In Fall 2012 fashion, one trend I’m gravitating towards is bright jacquards, but more so, the menswear inspired ones – like foulard patterns from ascots and ties.  I fell in love with the J.Crew Tuxedo pant (above) which I only discovered this week.

“Are they….triplets?!,” says bus driver, Jan.  Off they go, on their first day of kindergarten!  This week, our girls started a new school and so did our son.  It’s been busy and overwhelming!  What I need?  Savasana.  What I’ll do?  Crazy me, I want to sneak in a Saturday morning at Brimfield.

  1. How exciting – the show house, your girls starting school and your son in a new school! Everything comes in 3′s I guess! :) (PS Dying to know what wallpaper you chose!)
